Attire.

My Dress.

I really thought trying on dresses was going to be such a pain and I thought it was going to take forever. Luckily for me, I found my dress after only trying on about 7 others. I knew it was the one as soon as I walked out and saw myself in the mirror for the first time. It's not something I ever imagined myself liking and WANTING to wear, but I love it. It's flattering, it's simple, it's gorgeous... it's perfect. And FYI, it looks completely different on me than it does on the model.

It's from David's Bridal Galina Collection - style number T9552. It's a crinkle chiffon A-line gown with beaded embroidered empire waist. It has a sweep train and mine will be in ivory.

The Dress... on ME.

First Fitting (6/9/09)!

Picture
I had my first fitting June 9th, and it felt SO good to put my dress on again.

I had lost 15lbs, so I was hoping she'd have to be taken in a little bit, but instead of being uncomfortably too tight, she fits like a glove. It has to be taken in a teensy bit in the bust and that's it!

More pictures below of the dress and the bustle I decided on...

Shoes!

I cannot tell you how much I am infatuated with these shoes. they are going to look SO good with the detail on my dress and they'll make for some badass pictures. They're so perfect and so ME. let's hope they're comfortable!

They're M by Marinelli Randy Reptile Sandals in Lime Green - bought them from DSW for $71.50 including shipping. ahhh.

Rehearsal Dinner Dress.

I was thinking about wearing this dress for the reception... but how many times will I be able to wear a white wedding dress? once.

so instead, I'll be rockin' this hot little number at our rehearsal dinner. I got it at David's Bridal at the same time I bought my dress, for only $130.

now to find the perfect pair of shoes...

Garters.

I ordered these garters from E-bay seller kristis_charmed_life for $20 (including shipping). I thought it'd be something cute and surprising for Sean to find under my dress. The E-bay seller says all her handmade garters also include a small blue bow on the inside to serve as "something blue" too. sweet.

Bridemaid's Dresses.

All I want is for my girls to be comfortable. I told them they could choose anything they want... as long as it's tea length and David's Bridal's "truffle" color. They all tried on the same style dress and they ALL loved it. It looks so good on all of them and it's even something they could wear again after the wedding. I plan on buying them all cute green jewelry to wear on the wedding day (different jewelry for each girl) and they can wear whichever shoes they want... as long as they're brown.

Groom's Attire.

I'm not really picky when it comes to Sean's tuxedo. I really want him to be comfortable (haha, comfortable in a tux in AUGUST... fat chance) in whatever he decides to wear. My only real requirement is that his shirt, vest and tie are ivory to match my dress. We'll most likely be getting the tuxes from Men's Wearhouse (I got some discounts from David's Bridal). I'm hoping that by the end of the night, he takes the jacket off and is rockin' the suspenders. He looks so cute in suspenders.

Groom's Cufflinks.

I ordered these cufflnks for Sean from Sports Authority for about $55 with shipping. There's nothing he loves more (besides me) than the Baltimore Ravens, so this will be a nice little surprise for him.

Groomsmen's Attire.

Sean's manly friends will also be dressed in Men's Wearhouse tuxedos. They'll be in basic black tuxes with green ties & vests, ivory shirts. I really wanted them to be in brown to match the bridesmaids, but I don't like black & brown together and I didn't want brown tuxes... so green it is. We'll use the green in the girls' bouquets to match the guys' tuxes.
